Playing with Water

James just loves the hose. It is a good thing we are on irrigation water that is unlimited.

P.S Please do not mind the dog in the background chewing on a bone right next to me :)

Drip System

We have been going out everyday to water our garden and flowers. The winter was rough on our drip system, and Sage also chewed it up a little bit. Jon and I decided that it was finally time to get it done. James had fun helping dad. He kept stealing his tools and leaving them all around the yard. His favorites were the screw driver and pliers.

While working on the drip system we also got 8 tomatoes plants planted. We have 2 more left to plant. This is my favorite part of spring, getting everything going, and watching it grow.

My poor flowers are never going to grow. But James just had to make sure they would get enough water :)

Laundry Day

This is what the clothes line looked like today. This is after one night of James throwing up from 1-6 in the morning. Plus I still had another load in the wash. It is days like today where I am so grateful for my clothesline!!

Brushing Teeth

James loves brushing his own teeth. We often find him trying to climb up on to the counter. He throws a fit anytime we take him away, or tell him he is done. It is so cute...

Side Note- I have been trying for 3 nights to get a video, and the other 2 I have are much better. I think they were too long for blogger, since it would not upload.

Wheelbarrow Fun

We got bark this morning, and had to barrow our neighbors wheelbarrow. (Since Jon wont buy one)At first James was not to sure about it, then we could not get home out of it! It was a nice distraction for him, while Jon did all the work :)

Doesn't the backyard look good? I wish I had before and after pictures. Now I just have to exercise patience and wait for my pretty flowers to pop up! (BUT do not mind all the dead spots, we are working on them, thanks to Sage :)

Chicks

We had chicks for a day! Luckily they left our house alive to go and live in peace at my parents. James is learning to be "soft" with things, but still gets really excited. Needless to say the chicks got pushed around a little. Then our lovely dog Sage would not leave them alone. I swear she about had a heart attack. They were fun to have for one day. Where we live does not allow us to have ANY. In which I am now grateful :) Jon grew up with chickens and I could tell all day that the memories were coming back for him, he would love to have a few chickens. Maybe next place we live...

New Rule

This is the way you are supposed to wear a hat while you are inside - according to James

Planting

Jon and I decided it was time to plant our "cold weather veggies". The peas were already in, but we had some starts for: lettuce, broccoli and cauliflower. We spent Monday night working on part of the grass. Sage kills it A LOT! We wanted to take a break from that, and it was so beautiful we thought why not.

Our neighbor was also outside, and James was trying to watch them through the fence

Happy Easter

We were not sure how James would do with Easter. We knew he would not understand the full meaning. He has been playing with plastic eggs for the past few weeks to get him ready. This morning he found that the Easter Bunny (not that he knows that :) came. All he wanted to play with were the bubbles.

We did do an egg hunt outside. He did really good! He did not want to carry his basket around, BUT found all the eggs by himself and put them in the basket. It was so cute watching him. I am so grateful that we had beautiful weather!!

Even though Jon was disappointed in the lack of candy from the Easter Bunny (oops), we are grateful for this day, and what it means. I am grateful that Jesus Christ gave the ultimate sacrifice for me. Even more I am grateful he rose that 3rd day making it possible for all of to return to our Father in Heaven. It takes on a new meaning for me, as I now have a family, as I would give anything for them.

Yard Work

So it begins. With this nice weather, and being outside a lot, we notice our yard needs A LOT of love. This weekend was spent lining the back near the fence, adding a flower bed and adjusting sprinklers. James has enjoyed being outside for most of the day, and I have too. 60 degrees is perfect :)

Along the back fence we are going to plant our tomatoes, pumpkins, peppers, and sunflowers. And anything else that doesn't fit in the garden. I planted seeds in the flower bed, I can not wait til they come up!! Hopefully in about 2 weeks :)

Our garden so far. This is just onions and garlic

New Hat

We ran some errands this morning. While we were out we got James a hat (yes it is a carhartt hat). He has been stealing Jon's lately, but wont really keep it on for long. We thought we would get him one now to get use to it by this summer. He only took it off once! Than he was so tired from running around Lowes and Ranch and Home that he fell asleep on the way home :) (which like never happens :)

Jon Work Party

Jon was invited to a special work party earlier in March. We were both supposed to go to this fancy night out. James decided the night before to throw up and get a fever. I was super sad that I would be stuck home with him while Jon went out.

I wish I could tell you more about it. One thing I do know is that one guy there was the head of this whole project, like the highest man! Side note- at work Jon is called Rev-Zero (don't ask me why). And the big man (boss) had heard of him!! How cool is that. Well today I got an email with a couple pictures from that night. I thought I might share...
