Another Short Trip

My dad had a lot of work to do this weekend at the property and could really have used Jon's help, so down we went. Turns out the weather got really hot, and the mosquitoes were really bad. Plans changed where just my dad and Jon went down, while mom, the kids and I stayed in Monument. It was good because I needed help on the quilt for James. We had fun playing, taking Sage swimming and swimming in Grandmas little pool. It was hot, but we loved it!! Turns out it got to hot for the boys too, they came home early on Saturday and we booked it out so that we could enjoy our a/c at home :)

Practice Makes Perfect

Jon needed to get some yard work done, and while he was doing this James thought it was the perfect time to practice fishing. James loves his fishing pole!

Rain Rain Go Away

This Morning we woke up to rain. James really wanted to go outside. So he stripped by the back door, sadly he would only run to the pool and back

And then we had to have a snack. I love how Millie is shoving her face, it is the way she typically eats :)

I am so spoiled!

I have had a sewing machine for a few years and hardly used it. Last year while making blankets for Millie the Bobbin winder broke, I didn't care cause I could always use a friends machine to wind bobbins. Well I decided to make a twin quilt for James. In the middle of the project it just broke on me. Jon was more then willing to go out and buy me a new one. It is awesome!! It is a Janome. It does all these fancy things, that I am excited to learn about.

Not only did a get a new sewing machine, but he willingly re-did my closet for me. I bought the shelf unit at Ikea when the kids and I went earlier this month. I found this idea on pinterest. It was a super easy project for him to do. Now I get the fun job at organizing it!!

I am so blessed!!!

First Trip to the Dentist

James had his first ever dentist appointment today!! He did awesome! The dentist was so surprised that James was able to sit still for so long. It does help that they have a t.v in the ceiling. He just laid back and watched while she cleaned his teeth. The dentist says he has all of his teeth in, they look great, and he is pleased there is some space to help older teeth move in later. James was so excited that he got bubbles at the end. I hope it was a good enough experience for him that he will never the dentist.

Yes we did have to bring our fish :)

All done!

Quick Trip

My mom orders Strawberries that come into Portland. It is a sweet deal for a great price you get a 30 gallon bucket of washed and cut strawberries. We ordered 2 :) Anyways mom asked if the kids and I would be willing to go with her. We meet her on I-84 and drove into Portland. I thought it would be great to stop at Bonneville Dam. It is about 45 minutes on the east side of Portland, and I thought the kids could use the walk. James Loved it!! Millie really enjoying running around. We had to stay at the fish for a long time, we got to feed them "dinner", and watch the BIG fish (sturgeon) in the fish house. By the Sturgeon there is a little house where you can view them. There were a lot of older people in there. James went up to each one and said "big fish". They laughed at us, but James wanted to make sure everyone knew there was a big fish :) We got to watch the shad run up the fish ladder and have lunch there. Just making it to Bonneville was worth the trip. Once we got back in the car both kids were out with in 10 minutes. We had to run some errands, we saw some friends and Uncle Garrett. Ate dinner and got to swim in the pool. Both kids did great, had loads of fun and were so tired.

Wednesday we had a slow start and had to pick up the strawberries, got some really good lunch and went back to Bonneville. We did not stay to long, long enough to run around and eat lunch. It was great to see my mom again and see how much James loved the fish!

First Float Trip

Jon and James decided to blow up the raft and float the river with our friends. It was about an hour and half long. They had a blast!! It was not a crazy float, just on the Yakima, the older kids got out and swam a few times. They tried to fish, but they only got one and it got off the line before they got it in the boat. Jon says it is such an easy float that even Millie can come next time. I think this will become a weekly activity :)

New Pool

We decided it was time to get a plastic pool. I hope the kids will really play with it this summer. It gets so hot its a nice way to cool down. So far James will put his monster trucks in and walk around. Millie just likes to splash from outside. Sage enjoys drinking from it :)
