4th of July

It felt so weird to have the 4th of July on Wednesday. We made the best of it though. I told Jon (since he had the whole day off) that we were not doing any yard work or working on projects. We got up and went about 20 minutes north to a small town called Basin City. They had a parade, and we heard that they handed out ice cream sandwiches. It was about 45 minutes long, and awesome. They do hand out the ice cream sandwiches and LOTS of candy. When the fire trucks went by they actually sprayed the crowd. The parade went along a canal, and many crowd members had water guns and buckets. When the fire trucks would go by them they would stop and have a water fight. It was fun to watch.

We got home and hung out around the house to try and get kids to nap. We had some close friends over for a BBQ that night. Millie was on one, and would not calm down. Each adult took their turn. It was horrible. We had bought a few fireworks to do with James. It ended up being for the neighborhood kids. We literally bought like 6 fireworks. Our neighbor wanted to hold James, so Jon pretty much did the fireworks with the other kids. It was still kind of fun.
