Labor Day Weekend Fun

As usual we headed down to my parents place for labor day, this time was a blast!! Dad had a new project of building a little fence, which we did! He also recently got about 150 trout to put in his pond, so we got to feed them. The only problem were the yellow jackets! They were horrible!! We had about 4 traps that were full right by camp. The men probably killed 300 with hats. Luckily only Jon, Kate (Parkers girl) and Sage were the only ones to get stung. Of course there was a lot of eating, deer watching, ATV riding, hiking, and getting dirty!! The kids loved it!!

Saturday we headed back to monument, and relax (or crashed). Sunday night Jon, my dad, James and I went snake hunting. It was a BLAST! We saw a bunch a mule deer and about 250 elk. It gave Jon buck fever real bad :) We were almost done with our drive and had not seen one snake, then BAM 1 mile out of town we found a rattle snake on the road. It took James awhile to want to touch it, but he loved talking about it.

We had to leave Monday, but before we did we went fishing. We tried two fishing spots, the first spot we caught like 2, so we moved. Man the second spot was amazing. Every time you casted out you either caught a fish or got a bite. Too bad they were only little bass.

The kids passed out on the way home. They were over whelmed with family, wildlife and dirt. It will be hard going back to our boring like :)
