2 Years Old

I have a 2 year old! I just had to get that out. He is such a "special" boy as he is called around my family. They joke that he is 'Mr. Jekyll and Dr. Hyde'. He makes us laugh almost all the time. He loves his dog, in fact he has started requesting that Sage sleep on his bed with him. He is doing great in nursery, in fact he never wants to leave. He still eats almost anything, it helps if you are also eating it. Most of all he is really good at giving 'bear hugs' and fish kisses.

We did not do a big party. Jon and I do not feel (especially at such a young age) that he needs a big party. We just had his best friend Maely and her family come over. They helped us set up James toys (and play with them) and also eat his ice cream cake.

No Naps?

James has decided that he no longer needs naps. Sometimes I agree, he tends to sleep better at night with out one. There are some days though we he gets super tired...

James loves to dance. Somehow he figured out how to turn on a song on the piano. Once in a while I will be off doing something and I hear it come on. He also dressed himself this day :)

Other New Bed

Mom and Dad also got a new bed (also from Ikea). 

We love it!

Its a little high for Jon, so we will be getting slats to replace the box spring.

Millie 8 Months Old

James would not let us take pictures this morning! So he is in so many of them. Millie was mostly ok with that. James can always get her to smile. She is still growing like a weed. It seems like all she is doing is eating. James loves feeding her fruit loops (mom has learned to accept it and it is better then some things he has tried to feed her). She has ate dog food twice. She is crawling even faster, and starting to pull herself up. James is making sure that she is not successful, he goes and pushes her down. We have also learned with Millie new found freedom, James is a tattle-tail, and a bossy kid :)

Sleeping in the big boy bed has been going great! So we took the next step. Bye-Bye Binkie!!

We came to this decision because James was a turd with it. He was a different boy with it, and relied on it way to much. It could not even go to nursery with out it. It was time to go, so we snipped it and gave it back :)

New Bed

James got a new big boy bed!! (yes this was a purchase from Ikea :) We decided it was about time. He has been sleeping about the last month in his crib with out the one side. Hopefully it is a smooth transition for us!!

Portland Weekend

My sister got married on January 12. Since we found that out we planned on taking a few extra days to doing somethings as a family before the wedding. We got there on Wednesday night and stopped at Ikea to get a few things. Made it to the hotel and passed out. We learned that James talks in his sleep and that both kids are extremely light sleepers. The joys of all 4 of us sleeping together :) 

We decided we would hit the zoo on Thursday because of weather and OMSI on Friday. It was cold but the kids loved the zoo. James was excited about all the animals. We were very sad to learn that the zoo got rid of the wolves and elk (2 of his favorite animals). Millie just hung out in the stroller. We got back to the hotel and passed out again. 

 I was sad that we did not make it to OMSI on Thursday. Because of how well the kids were NOT sleeping, we did a lot of napping that day!

 Saturday was a fun but busy day. I am super sad I did not get 1 picture of the wedding. Have 2 cold, grumpy tired kids that only want mom and dad, make things a little difficult. It was beautiful and we are so happy for Megan and Billy. 

Sunday we went to my parents old ward for church and headed home. We loved the trip, we wish the kids didn't get so tired so we could have packed in a few more things!!

New Year

We brought in the New Year with sickness!! It is the best way :) Everyone left our house sick, or on the verge of being sick. Today we had finally had enough, we bundled up and played with James car outside. 

Oh and you see the snow... yeah that is like all we got all year. We are kind of sad about that.

Millie 7 Months!

Millie is 7 months old on Christmas!! (see I promised you she was there :) It was a crazy day, so to be fair she is actually 7 months and 1 day in these pictures. She is crawling all over the place and sitting up by herself. She loves that she can move by herself! Because of her milk allergy we are a little slow on feeding her lots of grown-up food. She does love bananas and green beans. James is starting to get more involved in what Millie is allowed to play with, and is always concerned with what she is doing.
