Memorial Weekend Kick-Off

Like every year we went down to my parents property to camp for memorial weekend. We meet them there Thursday afternoon and got right to work. Papa surprised us all with a new "toy" that he had bought, the kids loved it! The boys and I went down to get a little work done that night. Then we headed up for dinner and hung around camp.

As Grandma was reading goodnight books the boys heard a noise by camp and went walking. They came back with a coyote pup that they had found. From that moment on Millie was very concerned were the coyotes went, it was kind of cute!

Checking on the Beans

This past weekend the kids helped Dad plant beans in the garden. That means that first thing this morning they come to me with their boots on and James saying "we go check on the beans". I guess everyday they need to go check on the beans :)

I am not sure why they need to have their hands on their shoulders

Happy Mothers Day!

I was spoiled this Mothers Day weekend! We started off by having a lunch date on Friday to the place of my choosing. Saturday Jon let me clean all day, while he wrestled with the kids. Sunday was full of laughing and playing. And also Millie did great in nursery!! I am so lucky to be Millie and James mother! Some days it is rough and hard, but there are MORE days when its not!! I am so loved!

Trying to get a picture after church, we should have tried one before

I am a sucker for beautiful flowers!

Its Raining!

We do not get a lot of rain here, so when we do I try and encourage the kids to go play in it. James seems to think that to play in the rain he needs to only wear his underwear (its so that his other clothes don't get wet), while Millie on the other hand will go get a coat and hat (I wish I had a picture).

Potty Training

I am toying with the idea of potty training Millie. She is totally ready and wants too, I am just dragging my feet. We have been talking to her about it, and having her go pee pee on the potty, we just are not committed yet. WELL today I walked in on this....

I guess James thinks its his job to potty train her! (and I know you are dying to know, but he did actually get her to go pee pee)

Millie's New Dress

We had to take a picture in Millie's new dress. Especially since Papa picked it out, we think he did a good job!

It was after church at 4 in the afternoon, so its okay to be a little silly!

Park Day

We had a few errands to run with Grandma, but because the kids did so well we took them to a park. They now think Grandma is so much cooler then Mom, and I think I am okay with that!

A Visit from Grandma

Grandma is coming up for a few days!! She had some doctors appointments, and her doctor is only 45 minutes from us. We are super excited!! We didn't plan much with her, we just wanted a low key fun time with her. We were sad that we had to share her one night, but we survived!

Grandma meet us at the gymnastics open gym when she came into town, afterwards everyone was really tired

She loves to go play in the garage, and I am not sure why. Today I found her sitting and playing with the paint cans...

New Project

As soon as we got home I could not wait to get the bunk beds set up and the kids room put together! We decided that we would move James in with Millie and make his room the baby room. In order to do that I felt I needed to paint, there was just something bothering me about putting James in a pink room. I decided on the color yellow. It is gender neutral and James favorite color. Once I got things painted then I could put the beds together. BUT before I even started I felt I needed to get the house in order so that I could spend a day working on the room.

I am very impatient and decided it would be worth it to kill myself for 1 day to get it done, and I did!! I started off painting. I ended painting 2 coats of yellow and a fresh coat of white. That took all morning, and the kids were awesome and staying out and playing. I was also watching 2 other kids who help keep my kids busy.

After lunch my best friend Kelly came over (it was her boys I had) to hang out and lend a hand. She helped me build the bunk beds, I think I would have really over done it if she wasn't there to help!
Now I can't wait to finish getting their room together, and James can't wait to sleep in his new bed!!

I love the yellow so much more then the pink

All done!! And ready to show dad!

Not again

I feel like we just went through this, a day of cleaning and putting things away. The funny thing is I brought in the kids car seats to clean them, and that is all they wanted to play in!! I though after a long weekend of being in them, they would hate them. Oh no not my kids!

On our way home

We took a little time to let the kids play before heading on the forever long journey home. To our great surprise, with how tired our kids were there again was NO crying on the way home. Though about 45 minutes from home, we were ALL done being in the car! Now you can't drive through Boise without stopping at Cabelas for even a few minutes ;) Our excuse this time was Jon needed a couple new shirts. The kids loved it though (as if they wouldn't)!

James watching the fish

Millie found a new toy that she really wanted...
We made it home in good time, and spent the rest of the night playing outside to get our energy out before crashing in our beds. It was a great, short, weekend trip!

Happy Easter

Our Easter was a little different this year. We did not wake up to a basket of goodies, or head out straight for an egg hunt. I think it was more special for we got to attend a baby blessing. The blessing of sweet Liam was great, surrounded by friends and family. I am so excited that we were able to be there.

Millie LOVED Baby Liam
After church we all headed to Nathan's house for a lunch before many of the travelers left for home.  We took that time to take a quick family photo, and do a family egg hunt. We also took a big group photo, I am just still waiting for a copy...

Grandma and Grandpa

After saying our sad goodbyes we headed on the road, luckily only to go a few hours to my grandparents house.

A Day in Utah

There was no big plans for today. We had a family dinner later tonight, but the day was free. The weather was perfect and we didn't want to keep the kids inside. We started the day off going to the air-force museum. The kids loved walking around looking at all the big airplanes. Next we meet up at Nathans house to re-group. Maressa and the baby were still taking their morning naps, we decided to take the kids to the park and watch Nate fly his airplane. Millie loved swinging and James loved watching and helping Nate fly his plane.

Afterward we ate lunch and decided the best way to get our kids to take a nap (that was much needed) was to take a trip to Ikea and get the bunk bed we wanted for them. It was a great day!!
