Memorial Weekend

Well we love Memorial weekend. The past years we go with my parents to their property and work (and work hard, or play hard). That is the plan again this year, but we are going to see their new little town and play a little more than work because of James.

James and I are trying to pack up. I am finding it takes like ALL day to do that, when it only took me like an hour before. I have a lot to learn this trip :)

We got to my parents around 10. We are learning that James no longer likes his carseat. It is about 2 hours and 45 minute drive and he was supposed to sleep at least 2 hours, and he didn't. That made for a really long night.

The next day we enjoyed the view from their rental. It was gorgeous. We watched a lot of birds like bald eagles, hummingbirds and everything in between. The house backed the John Day river. Sage had fun running in the tall grass looking for mice and anything fun.

I really like James face in this picture ^

Later that day we drove the 20 miles to Monument to see where dad worked. It was a small office and he works mainly by himself. It was really neat to see.

Grandma and James

Well the weather was supposed to be really crappy so we decided that Mom, James and I would stay back that night and we would come in the morning. We packed up Jon, Dad, Megan and Sage and they were on their way. We felt like we made a good decision because they got rained on and had some hail.

In the morning we were getting ready to go but Mom got a phone call. They were able to get a house in Monument (instead of where they lived in Spray) to rent. It would save on so much time and gas. Monument is where my dad works and where their branch meets. Needless to say we got delayed for a few hours. We finally got on the road and called them from Long creek only to find that we would barley be able to get in, because the rain had done some major damage to the road. Plus the weather we still crappy.

Mom and I did rally want to go, and I wanted to see how James would do. BUT because of the weather I am really glad we stayed home. We watched Tangled like 3 times. Now my Mom claims that is James favorite movie.

Everyone got back that night and we just relaxed, and the boys + Megan got warm and dry.

On Sunday we went to their branch were Jon and I talked. He and I were the whole sacrament meeting. It was a blast. There was maybe 25 people there.

On Monday we helped them start to get their new house ready. Jon and I shampooed and washed all the carpet while everyone else did other important things to get the house ready for them.

It was a long but relaxing weekend. It was weird not to go camping and I really missed that. I hope next time the weather is better!!

New Favorite

James has had this stuff animal (a coyote) since he was born. But just recently begin to interact with it. One afternoon he went to his crib and started playing with it. It was so cute!

Later that day when he was tired of playing with the coyote, he did his other favorite thing...Staring at the dog!! Who knew that would be so entertaining.

New Baby Gear!

REI had a great sale going on, so of course we had to go check it out. We are so happy we did. As you can see we got a bike trailer (and as soon as we get the wheel it will also be a jogging stroller), and a backpack!!

He really does like the backpack you just have to keep moving

First Time!

I do not know what prompted this but James slept last night from 8:30PM-6:30AM. It was the best sleep I (and Jon) and gotten in a long time!! I just hope he keeps it up.

Also this is the first day that we got a little rice in our bottle. I know some people might think it is a little early, BUT he is just a big boy! All the ladies at church think he is 6 months old! And he is barley 3 and a half. Needless to say he really liked it!!

Duckies!

We just wanted to show off our ducky P.J's that Grandma and Grandpa Revo got us!!

P.S this is right after bath time, hence the kind of red checks.

We got another!!!

Tonight we got another video of James laughing!! We are so excited because he does it so rarely. We have learned that he has to be past the point of being tired. To get his laugh we pay a price. As soon as he is done he starts crying and takes a little longer to put to sleep. But sometimes it is worth it. It melts our hearts to hear him laugh!!

Garden and so much more

I am so excited that this year we get to do a garden! Before we started it I was thinking since it is our first year we should do a smaller one. Now that we have planted everything, I think next year we need to at least double it. That is if we don't kill everything :)

This is our main box. It includes: onions, garlic. cilantro, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, lots of green beans and a watermelon plant.

This is one row of 5 tomato plants

Here are our other 5 tomato plants, and in the corner we have planted sunflowers!

We also have 2 jalapeno plants and 2 strawberry plants. We have so many tomato plants because we are planning on trying to supply my family with salsa, we will see how that goes.

Also this week Jon finally got his grill. This weekend we ate like kings: steaks, ribs and hamburgers. He loves cooking on it

Finally this is our next project. This stretch is behind the house. The beautiful bush is a dwarf lilac tree. Jon laid down the liner this weekend. We hope to get more bark and plants and flowers down and around as well. There is a space between the tree and the patio that soon we will be expanding the patio. You know we have to make more room for the grill master ;)

Getting Ready

Jon took this picture as James was taking his nap before church

Disclaimer: Lately at night Sage has been sleeping on the couch. The sheet is there to try and protect it. Even though we do not really want her on the couch it is better than on our bed.

Happy Day

Jon had to work last weekend (Yes Friday and Saturday). See his work schedule is 4-10 (monday-thursday 10 hour days). Which we love!! Some times he has to work Fridays and that is alright cause he gets overtime, who wouldn't want more money?? Even though it is Friday the 13 (insert scary noise)we were pretty lucky Jon could come home after lunch. I loved this, cause it meant I would have an afternoon to work outside. See we have been working on a garden and other things. Jon got home and I put James to sleep. Some days James has a hard time sleeping, Jon speedily agreed to take a nap with him. I came in from working and found this...

I will take some more pictures tomorrow after we work a little bit more on the yard. I love showing off our hard work!

Thanks Family!

We are so lucky that our families share so much with us. We tried our 'new toy' today. We have Uncle Bryce and Aunt Laura to thank. I guess it is a good thing that we are having kids after everyone else ;)

Figure out James loves this! It is so perfect for us, cause James just loves being in the 'up' position and it gets tiring holding him all the time. I can tell we BOTH are going to love this toy!

P.S you just have to love the drool...

Thanks again guys!

One of those days

It was one of those days for us today. If James was older the day would have been considered a "movie day". The weird thing was that it was not just me, James mood changed a little too. He just was not as smiley. I understand though, it is hard to be cute ALL the time :)

Don't worry we still got pictures. We worked on tummy time.

This scares me, he is trying so hard with his legs to move. Luckily right now his arms still need some work.

1st Mothers Day

This was my first official Mothers Day. Every year we have been married Jon has been amazing at getting me a card and flowers. This year was really special for me, I am starting to slowly understand what it takes to be a mom. I am hopefully also very slowly learning how to be a good mom.

Jon and James got me a very special, meaningful card. They also got me flowers ( I just love getting them). I got to sleep in this morning, and I did not have to cook one meal today! I am so proud of my husband for thinking about this next part all by himself. They got me flowers to plant outside so that I may always remember my first Mothers Day.

I love my Boys!!

3 Month's!!

James is now 3 months old!! He is growing too fast. He now smiles a lot and tries to talk to us. He grabs and holds on to things a lot better. He loves sitting in his bumbo. He rolls from side to side and loves standing up!

James kicking and playing

I was out running errands and thankfully Jon caught this on tape. This is his first time giggling. He is so cute!!!

James Playing

Here is proof of James playing happily :)

sleeping...Not

I bought what I call a "sleeping aid" for James. Thinking that once he gets tired I could lay him in bed and he would fall asleep. Well I guess it is too early for that, all he does is watch it for awhile and than he wants to play. Silly boy! For now we are using it to distract him for a little bit so that I can get things done. Also don't worry he is still cute naked (well almost naked) ;)

New Toy

For Easter Granny 'C' and Pappa (a.k.a Grandma and Grandpa Ussery) got James a new little toy. He has enjoyed being entertained while laying on his back!

I just have to add this picture in, he looks just so dang cute :)
